Food Photography Details

Looking back, I've noticed that I've photographed quite a bit of food over the years.  From bakeries and caterers, to chefs and venues, it's been such a treat(see what i did there?) working along side so many different artists in capturing their culinary creations.  Here are a few of my favorite that I've been invited to photograph over the years.  Bon appetit!

Riviera Park Santa Barbara Wedding

{Kellie + Nick}   If you ever happen to find yourself in Santa Barbara, and you're looking to wed the love of your life, consider doing that at Riviera Park, a historic site nestled atop the old University of Santa Barbara campus overlooking all of Santa Barbara. That's exactly what Kellie and Nick chose for their spring wedding this year. Not only was the site just ridiculously gorgeous (obvi), but the space held magic for the couple. And it's clear to see why. Santa Barbara is notorious for it's big, white, mission-style architecture; think long halls, turning into lush manicured greenery, turning into a centered reflecting pool, complete with babbling-fountain-realness. You'll see.

Artist Origin Story of StopGo Photography

On a rare rainy day during a San Diego winter I was staring out my bedroom window dreaming of imagery and listening to rainfall. Droplets fell and dug up the loamy earth outside, while inside I was a woman possessed, trying to settle on a name for my photography studio. Fitting that it would be a day encircled by the pitter-patter rhythm of rain, because sound was how I fell for photography in the first place. As an experiencer of ASMR growing up, I was drawn to the sounds my AE-1 made; the whirring of the film lever wind, the snap of the shutter, the way my nails tapped on the body as I focused through it's single lens reflex. It was all very romantic.  All this sensations running through my life like a string, these little details I wanted to tie up into a bow.

But wait, there's more...

New Year, New Adventure | Moving Away Couples Photoshoot

If you know anything about me, you know that I am an advocate for adventure. With the closing of 2014 and the beginning of the new year, there is no better time to embark on a new journey. And that's just what these two are doing; moving away from San Diego to Spain! Holy cow, right? I think it takes incredible guts to chase after what you want, and I'm proud that the two of you are doing it. I wish you all the amazingness and adventure that you can carry. Gosh, you guys are probably on the road AS WE SPEAK! Godspeed, and all the luck! {>o<}See more, Seymour?

Merry & Bright | Holiday Time in San Diego

There are few things more Christmas-y for a San Dieagan than the Hotel Del in Coronado in December.  I love spending time catching up with past clients and seeing where their families are now, and this family was no exception. These are a few of my favorites from a session with one of my favorite families last week.  Happy Holidays to you and yours {>o<}

Own Your Bones| Head Dresses for the Offbeat Bride

I'm not going to sugar coat it; this woman is amazing and I had a blast photographing her. I mean, did you see her green hair?... Do you have eyes?! All joking aside, not only did she make one hellofa bride, but her MUA skills were on point and she rocked the shit out of some headdresses. I sure do love me some Offbeat Brides. Looking forward to our paths crossing again {>o<}

See more, you say?

Traveling from San Diego to upstate New York to photograph Sam and Patrick's wedding at Olana was such a blast. Unlike southern California, the east coast has these things called seasons! Fall is no joke, guys... so incredibly stunning.

Scott + Melissa | A Pacific Beach Wedding

Talk about an absolutely gorgeous couple to photograph, Scott and Melissa have such an eclectic, fun loving style that perfectly encapsulates everything great about living in the San Diego sunshine. Kristi Colby of The Make-Up Box got the girls all glammed up and gorgeous, before everyone headed to St. Brigid Catholic Church in Pacific Beach for the ceremony. Afterwards it was off to the Mission Bay Hilton to cut loose to THE BEST 90's hip hop and R&B courtesy of Mikey Beltran of Sleeping Giant .Their blue and gray themed wedding was an incredible blend of traditional sensibilities and modern playfulness.  There were toasts, merriment for all, and photobooth... but at the core of the festivities was Scott and Melissa’s infectious love, so obvious to everyone in attendance. It was an honor to capture their wedding, and it is a delight to share some of my favorites!...see more more this session {>o<}

Darren + Erica | Green Gables Estate Wedding

One of the themes of Darren and Erica’s wedding was ‘celebrating differences.’  And if you attended their Green Gables Estate ceremony in San Marcos, then you heard beautiful stories about the couple’s varied nature from their officiant, from their loved ones, and even from the bride and groom themselves.  The special day was entirely refreshing and life affirming; everyone speaking to the overvalued state of same-ness and how differences bring fresh water into relationships.

Darren and Erica opted for a circular ceremony, which felt so amazingly charged and spiritually focused. It was an honor to photograph the joining of these two strong houses. I wish you both the very best on your journey through life together!  {>o<}
